Nafasi Sports Academy

Nafasi Community Development Foundation is a charity based in the UK that works in an area of Arusha, Tanzania helping to fund and organise projects for local communities. Nafasi has recently been involved in the ongoing construction of a library and improvements to a secondary school. Nafasi is now looking to set up a sports academy to give local young people an opportunity to take part in various sporting activities, the first being a youth football team. Nafasi were looking to build on their existing branding by adding a new logo design to represent the sports academy element of the project. The mountain on the logo is representitive of Mount Meru in Arusha, Tanzania on which the community lives and together with the mountaineer signifies what the local people are known for which is those who climb but also the metaphor of the journey in sport and life where its not east to reach the top and be successful but those who put in the hard work have the potential to get there. The term Varwa was added as a moto from the local Meru language of the Wameru people meaning those who climb and the english asses as well for broader understanding. The colours of blue and gold are representative of the original Nafasi Community Development Foundation logo.
